Freestyle has arrived!
Today we picked up our Freestyle with 6.7 miles on it. We special ordered it from Pacific Ford. It's the Limited AWD Model with Rear Air, Reverse Sensors, Homelink and the Safety Package which includes the Head Curtain Airbag for all three rows. We're very pleased. Tim at Pacific Ford in Long Beach made the purchase a joy.

My wife and I are considering a 06 Freestyle after I was re-ended in an accident recently and my car was totaled. I've been driving the same car (95 Maxima) for 11 years so buying a new car is a big deal for us.
I have a few questions.
1) Did you special order this car? Was it hard to do? Didn't the dealer try to discourage you so you could buy one from their inventory? I've always wanted to custom order a car but don't know what's involved.
2) Do you have the dashboard glare problem lots of people seem to be complaining about?
3) How would you judge the realibility? From your blog, it sounds liked you've had relatively minor problems.

Hi Roger,
Yes I did special order our vehicle through the X-Plan. I worked with the Fleet Manager, Tim Anderson, at Pacifc Ford in Long Beach, CA. It was very easy to do and I didn't even have to put any money down.
Having read about the problems folks were having with the dashboard glare with the pebble interior, I chose to order the black leather interior and don't have any glare problem.
Reliability has been great. I had some minor things taken care of as mentioned on the blog. Pacific Ford made that painless as well. They gave me a free loaner while they fixed everything and didn't even charge me for gas. Can't beat that! :)
Be sure to order the Safety Package with whatever style you choose to purchase. It's a sound investment that will help protect yourself and your passengers.
